On the first day of our trip, we met at the office and packed our belongings into the vehicles, ready for the adventure ahead. I shared a car with Caitlin, Mia, Tsose, and Heily, and as we made our way to Mankele Adventure, we enjoyed amazing conversations and took in the breathtaking views along the journey. Upon arrival, we settled into our sleeping rooms, unpacked our things, and took a moment to soak in the excitement of being in such a beautiful place. A delicious lunch awaited us, filling us with energy for the afternoon ahead. One of the highlights of the afternoon was a wonderful and uplifting session with Pastor Christi, leaving us inspired. Afterward, we headed outside for a lively game of volleyball, and afterwards a game of cards, laughing and bonding as we played. As the sun set, we gathered for a lovely dinner, followed by another impactful session with Pastor Christi, bringing the perfect close to our first day. With hearts full and minds at peace, we got ready for bed and drifted off to sleep, eager for what the next day would bring. On the second day of our trip, we woke up at 4:30 AM for the 5 AM call to prayer, starting our morning in a peaceful and reflective way. Afterward, we took a short nap to recharge before enjoying a delicious breakfast. Following breakfast, we had a meaningful
journaling session, where I was grouped with Bryn, Mia, and Ester. Soon after, we prepared for an adventurous 12km hike, which rewarded us with breathtaking views along the way. Midway through the hike, we had the opportunity to zipline I was hesitant about it at first, but by the end, I truly enjoyed the zipline. Once we completed the hike, we cooled off with a refreshing swim, letting the water wash away our exhaustion, before an inspiring session with Pastor G and Pastor Melusi. Later in the afternoon, we took on the States team in an exciting volleyball match, filled with energy and friendly competition. Afterward, we gathered for another meal before closing the day with a powerful session led by Pastor G and Pastor Melusi. Feeling both physically tired and spiritually uplifted, we went to bed, ready for whatever the next day had in store. We began the third day with the 5 AM prayer, embracing the quiet stillness of the morning before returning to
bed for a little more rest. After a refreshing nap, we gathered for another uplifting session with Pastor G and Pastor Melusi, setting the tone for the day ahead. Following the session, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast that filled us with energy. Afterward, we had some alone time, during which I read my book, appreciating the peaceful moment. Soon, we set off on another hike—this time an 8km journey through breathtaking scenery. Along the way, we marveled at a stunning waterfall, butterflies fluttering by, and the incredible views that surrounded us. After completing the hike, we returned for a satisfying lunch before heading into a powerful session with Pastor John. With spirits lifted, we engaged in a fun and energetic game that was a mix of basketball and netball, bringing out our competitive and playful sides. As evening fell, we shared a delicious dinner before gathering around the campfire for another inspiring session with Pastor John. The night was made even sweeter with chocolates and toasted marshmallows, adding a cozy and joyful touch to the moment. With full hearts and happy memories, we headed straight to bed, grateful for yet another incredible day. On the last day of our trip, we woke up
early and began packing our things, loading them into the vehicles before settling down for a game of cards while waiting for breakfast. As we shared our final meal together, the fellowship was truly special, filled with laughter and heartfelt moments. After breakfast, we gathered for one last session with Pastor John, soaking in his words before it was time to leave Mankele. Instead of heading straight home, we made a stop at Joubert & Seuns Padstal, where we picked up some snacks for the road and took in the breathtaking view. The journey home was peaceful, with Heily, Tsose, and me sleeping the whole way. Though the trip came to an end, the memories we made will stay with me forever.
